What better way to celebrate Canada Day than with a festival of lights? The busy Environment staff at CFB Wainwright volunteered their time over the holiday long weekend to distribute bulbs to the military community.
"We thought it would be a great way to get the bulbs out to the residents of the base and promote the importance of caring for the environment at the same time," says Daylene Lauckner, Environment and Safety Clerk for CFB Wainwright.
Staff members pitched a tent on the base and handed out 300 free CFLs to the soldiers and their families. The bulbs were much appreciated by the military workers, who spent the rest of the day enjoying themselves and celebrating our country.
