ReminderUSA.net (Vineland, NJ): Project Porchlight Brings CFL Bulbs to Vineland
Despite cool, wet weather, the Third Annual Rock-n-Roll-n-Ribs-n-Chili Cook-off on Sept. 26 was a sizzlin’ success. Hundreds of people turned out to sample selections from local professional chefs and amateurs and listen to music performed by some excellent blues and rock bands.
Project Porchlight was also on hand to educate people about the energy savings offered by compact flourescent light bulbs. A total of 374 CFL bulbs were distrubuted as part of Project Porchlight New Jersey’s campaign to distribute energy-efficient light bulbs to residents across the state.
Project Porchlight is an initiative of One Change, and the campaign is made possible by funding of the Board of Public Utilities and New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program.
“We were very happy to welcome Project Porchlight to Vineland,” says Todd Noon, executive director of Vineland Downtown Improvement District/Main Street Vineland. “When it comes to protecting our environment, simple actions matter. Even something as simple as changing a light bulb can make a huge difference. Vineland is committed to saving energy, and we know that by switching to CLF bulbs, our residents will help protect the environment and save money on electric bills.”
