  • Position Type: Temporary Employee for the duration of the delivery period (to April 2008)

Project Porchlight is a national social marketing campaign to encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly behaviours, administered by One Change, a not-for-profit organization based in Ottawa, Ontario. The goal of Project Porchlight is to bring together community groups, business, and government to deliver one free compact fluorescent light bulb to every household in Canada. We are looking for Field Representatives to support our Alberta campaign.

Reporting to the local Community Development Coordinator, Field Representatives are responsible for managing the day-to-day, door-to-door field delivery of CFL bulbs to designated households, data collection, working with volunteers, and public education and outreach. Some travel and work on evenings and on weekends will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver CFL bulbs to designated households and neighbourhoods
  • Participate in large-scale and small scale community events
  • Coordinate and support volunteer distribution
  • Deliver community education and engagement program

Qualifications

  • Capacity to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to meet daily and weekly delivery targets
  • Experience with data collection, data management and data reporting
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with little supervision
  • Experience in the non-profit sector
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • High level of professionalism
  • Physical ability to hand-deliver bulbs in all types of residential settings with varying levels of accessibility
  • Demonstrated passion for environmental causes and conservation projects an asset
  • Bilingualism an asset
  • Volunteerism an asset
