That's the Jr. Sabres Hockey Team's motto, but I am adopting it for the Porchlight campaign in Fort Frances.

We're wrapping up Project Porchlight in northwestern Ontario, but not without making sure we high five all the folks who made it ... well, downright fun and easy ... in this neck of the woods.

I went to volunteer conference thingy a few days ago and the keynote speaker said one of the myths about volunteerism in Canada is that almost half of us volunteer. She said this was true, but to take it with a grain of salt because actually only about 8% of folks volunteer regularly.

Well, I will tell you something. Those Jr. Sabres volunteer. With gusto! The truth is, from our experience, thousands of people are willing to help out and boy-oh-boy do we ever appreciate it. And Fort Frances? Volunteerism is alive and kicking and we couldn't have spread as much light without your help.
