Our team is supported by the help of dedicated volunteers and groups in every community where Project Porchlight takes its message.

Stuart Hickox, Founder & President
Stuart Hickox is the founder and executive director of One Change and Project Porchlight. When he stumbled upon the statistic that “if every household in Canada changed one bulb, the reduction in pollution would be like taking 66,000 cars off the road” he immediately thought, “How hard can it be to get everyone to change a light bulb?” Well, harder than he thought. But because he’s doing something that really matters, with an awesome team and incredible sponsors, he’s never been happier.
Karin Bond, Director, Finance
Karin is the comptroller of One Change and is responsible for financial reporting, budget preparation and planning. Karin oversees the day-to-day financial controls of the organization. Karin is a Certified Financial PlannerTM bringing more than 20 years of financial control, compliance and reporting experience to the organization.
Patti Laurin, Director, Human Resources
Patti is a seasoned Human Resources professional with over 30 years of experience working for companies in many sectors of business including: financial, government, not-for profit, high tech, scientific and insurance. Patti joined One Change in May 2009 as the Director, Human Resources and is delighted to find herself part of a caring, forward thinking, hard working and dedicated team!
Gail Logan, Director, Communications - email - gail (at) onechange.org
Gail brings over 30 years experience to the One Change team. As the former
President of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, she was responsible for communicating business needs and issues to all levels of government and was regularly called on by local and national media for comments from business. In addition, she has worked in the tourism and hospitality industry, has taught adult education in communications at the community college level and has received numerous awards and accolades for her leadership including being named by the Ottawa Citizen as one of the 10 most influential women in Ottawa!
Jason Bourdeau, Database and Logistics Coordinator
Jason has seen almost all the areas of the Porchlight skeletal structure, staring as a Field Rep in the ’06 Ottawa campaign and coming back in late ’07 to assist with volunteer coordination and delivery. Bringing him to where he is now- managing the Porchlight database, crunching numbers with the Count and always wondering what the ‘Number of the Day’ will be.
Debora Cossee, Accounting Manager
Debora's career was spent with 20 years in social housing and approx 10 with aboriginal organizations. She's been focusing on financial management in the non profit sector for several years. Debora has her accreditation in property management but finds finance challenging and never boring.
Jane Hermanson, Systems Administration Manager
Jane brings over 20 years experience in computing and network operations to One Change. She offers solutions from the traditional to the truly unique and innovative. Prior to joining One Change, Jane worked in the not-for-profit sector in the field of advanced networking and has previously worked for the Federal Government and a Crown Corporation. Jane is an avid athlete, Pilate’s teacher and advocate for good health, well being and balance.
Christopher Kelly, Project Manager, Business Development

Christopher Kelly brings a bright Irish personality, innovative business skills, and an instinctive need for environmental action to One Change, identifying and fostering important relationships with people and organizations of strategic importance. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Trent University’s program, rated number one by Corporate Knights for its focus on environmental management, business development in First Nations communities, and socially and environmentally responsible international business. His passion for the environment and knack for stakeholder relations has found an outlet with the One Change team, whose mission he firmly believes in.
Neil McCallum, New Media Assistant
Neil originally joined the Project Porchlight team in 2007 working as a field representative for the North Bay ON and area campaign. Neil’s thrilled to have recently rejoined the One Change organization as a new media assistant since moving to Ottawa. Neil has delivered bulbs, organized events, worked with media, and traveled all over Northern Ontario spreading the message of energy conservation. He’s now enthusiastic to help out the One Change team with on line communications. Neil has a business background from the University of Guelph. Aside from the environment, his other two passions include sports and music.
Melanie Moore, Finance Clerk
Melanie brings many years of accounting and administrative experience to the team at One Change, from the high tech to promotional products industries, to law and non-profit organizations. Her expertise, attention to detail, and interest in project management will surely benefit our current and future initiatives. Community-minded spirit is evident in her volunteer work with the Franktown Lilac Festival and Beckwith Heritage Days, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Ottawa West Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. Melanie loves animals and country living, is busy planning her September 2009 wedding, and is the newest member of our social committee!
Karen Powell, Payroll/Accounting
Karen started her career as a customer service agent for Ontario Hydro and was there to see the first CFL bulbs promoted; over the next 10 years, she encouraged customers to reduce, conserve and rejoice in lowering their hydro bills. She's pleased to be involved with the finance team at One Change and to be part of the ‘new’ push towards environmental change and conservation. Her payroll, administration and accounting experience will help One Change maintain its solid foundation that will, in turn, continue to support the terrific initiatives the creative crew comes up with day in and day out.
Corrie Rabbe, Communications Coordinator
Corrie originally joined the One Change team as the Fuel Events Coordinator. Having worked and volunteered for both grassroots and international organizations, she brings over 10 years of non-profit experience to the One Change team. This long-time environmentalist and award winning Environmental Studies graduate firmly believes that lifestyle choices have a huge impact on the environment. She is deeply motivated to share One Change’s dynamic message…simple actions matter! When this animal lover is not spending time with her rescued dogs and rabbits she enjoys biking, skiing and seeing live music.
Natalia Snajdr, Campaigns Organizer
Natalia has worked on the Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan campaigns, and this has given her the opportunity to travel across Canada spreading the One Change message. She finds the work fulfilling, believing strongly in fusing a career with causes for which she cares. Originally from Northern Ontario, Natalia has an academic background in both Business and Environmental Sciences. She was transplanted to Ottawa to pursue some time in the land of politics, which has enabled her to pursue other ethical goals, such as bringing Fair Trade coffee to Canada’s Parliament. In what little spare time she has, Natalia loves windsurfing, skiing and designing.
Andrea Thomas, Executive Assistant
Andrea is happy to be the Executive Assistant to executive geniuses Stuart Hickox and John Mulvihill. She brings over nine years of experience as an administrator and executive assistant to One Change, and has worked in many industries from law to health care. It’s her experience in a diverse array of fields and growing up as a Maritimer that made her realize working may as well be fun and for a worthy cause.
Sheila Foreman, Campaign Manager
Victoria Dykes, Communications Clerk, Caldwell
Victoria is a recent graduate (2008) from St. John's University with a B.S. in Communication Arts and Certified in Audio Recording and Production. She jumped at the opportunity to work in the communications industry as she now holds a job relevant to her education. Victoria has a strong interest in music, media, and social networking sites.
Karima Houston, Compliance Officer, Caldwell
Karima was born and raised in New York City and she graduated from Monroe College in 2006. Karima loves working at Project Porchlight as for Karima, Project Porchlight is a home away from home. She also enjoys helping the environment. As the Compliance Officer Karima does daily assessments.
Dina Morelli, NJ Green Resource Coordinator, Caldwell
Dina joined Porchlight in June 2009 at the Caldwell office. She works with all 7 GRT partners in getting the CFL bulbs out to the residents of NJ. A Seton Hall graduate, she comes from a background of corporate event planning. She is also a strong believer in the greening of NJ both homes /offices and enjoys making a difference. An unknown fact to most but the Caldwell office knows, she’s a health guru and fitness fanatic. Keeping everyone healthy! … or at least trying!
Kevin Thompson, Inventory Control Manager/Program Assistant, Caldwell
Kevin is a recent graduate (2009) from The University of Hartford with a B.S. in Business Administration. He is excited to be working for a constructive organization like One Change and hopes to make a difference within the Porchlight community. In his spare time he enjoys music, movies, sports, computers and having fun.
Vicky Allen, Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator, Forked River
Vicky has a background in environmental activism, having spearheaded local grassroots initiatives for the preservation of open space. She has also worked on special event planning, volunteer recruitment and fund raising for various national & local non-profits. In her spare time she is a Girl Scout Troop Leader, runs a local support group and is a mom to two wonderful sprites. She loves to travel on a dime, read, write (working on a book), yoga and (surprise surprise) volunteering for good causes.
Tom Violett, Regional Manager, Forked River
Tom joins Project Porchlight with widespread experience in international development, renewable energy consulting, community organizing and for the last 12 years as a Construction Manager in the New Home Industry. Tom devotes his spare time to his lovely wife and two beautiful daughters.
Sarah Davis, Campaign Manager
After graduating from San Francisco State University, Sarah worked at Brinker International and Starbucks Corporate before stints in the White House and a year and a half in the Obama for America campaign in Indiana. Sarah is glad to return to the Puget Sound region, where she enjoys reading, the outdoors, and tasting wines in preparation for her sommelier certification.
