National Office, Ottawa

Stuart Hickox, Executive Director
Stuart Hickox is the founder and executive director of One Change and Project Porchlight. When he stumbled upon the statistic that “if every household in Canada changed one bulb, the reduction in pollution would be like taking 66,000 cars off the road” he immediately thought, “How hard can it be to get everyone to change a light bulb?” Well, harder than he thought. But because he’s doing something that really matters, with an awesome team and incredible sponsors, he’s never been happier.

John C. Mulvihill, Associate Executive Director
Formerly the Deputy Secretary General of the Canadian Red Cross Society, John joined One Change in February 2008 and brings over 30 years of NGO-related experience to our organization. As our Associate Executive Director, he provides direction and management oversight to our daily operations.

Karin Bond, Comptroller
Karin is the comptroller of One Change and is responsible for financial reporting, budget preparation and planning. Karin oversees the day-to-day financial controls of the organization. Karin is a Certified Financial PlannerTM bringing more than 20 years of financial control, compliance and reporting experience to the organization.

Suzanne Fraser, Director of Communications and Outreach
Suzy is in charge of developing and implementing One Change’s communications strategy. This includes media relations, community engagement, and marketing. Suzy works to engage Canadians in our message, that environmentally conscious behaviour is a practical and achievable goal. Originally from Halifax, she’s a mom to two awesome little boys who like to run on the beach in PEI.

Jon Bartlett, Director of Development
Jon’s role is to help bring Project Porchlight to new communities. He works closely with Stuart to identify new opportunities and identify key private and public champions that are willing to engage with Project Porchlight and commit to making a change in their area. He hopes to bring Porchlight to several new communities (and countries) in the coming months!

Becca Atkinson, Communications Coordinator, Ontario Campaign
Becca is very excited to be part of Canada’s leading grassroots energy conservation organization. She says that working with such an amazing team of dedicated people who are getting people to start small and make simple changes that count is a job with a real impact. Becca’s daily activities include working closely with Project Porchlight’s regional coordinators to put on events in various cities across Ontario. She’s helping to get the word out that helping the environment and saving energy is as easy as changing a light bulb.

Jay Bourdeaux, Database and Logistics Coordinator

Martin Canning, Campaigns Manager
A veteran campaigner, Martin is thrilled to be putting his years of activism and passion for sustainable development toward making Project Porchlight a success. Working closely with the campaign manager, he travels the province and builds relationships with One Change’s multifaceted network of stakeholders. “One Change has offered me an awesome opportunity to reconcile my interests in campaign management with my passion for the environment,” says Martin. “Every day I get to wake up and go to work with people that are extremely positive about the future. I love this campaign!”

Manon Crôteau, Manager of Communications and Outreach
Manon works closely with the communications and campaign teams to manage and implement One Change’s communications strategies. Her daily work spans from community outreach and engagement, to marketing and media relations. Manon is eager to send our message that all Canadians have the power to make one change, and that one change does make a difference—for each household in every community and for the environment.

Lee-Ann Hall, Graphic Designer
With twelve years of agency experience under her belt, Lee Ann has earned her title as Project Porchlight's resident graphic design guru! She met One Change executive director Stuart Hickox in a past life, when they worked together at the communication and design agency where the Project Porchlight concept, logo and slogan Change Within Reach was born. From pilot project to campaign to the establishment of a not-for-profit organization, Lee Ann has created, evolved and established the look for Project Porchlight. She conceptualizes and designs new materials as One Change's campaigns continue to develop and grow.

Lisa Hatina, Program Development and Evaluation Coordinator
Lisa is One Change's Program Development and Evaluation Coordinator. Born and bred in Ottawa, Lisa has been with One Change since September 2006 making her a veteran. Supporting the development of structure, content and objectives of new programs and how their impact is measured, Lisa has experienced first hand how Project Porchlight can be tailored to communities across Canada. Lisa is the go-to person in the office for advice on the hot spots around town.

Tom Jeza, Administrative Assistant
Tom Jeza is One Change’s Administrative Assistant and also happens to be the youngest employee in our office. Tom helps maintain many of the day-to-day operations in the office, as well as being our Mr. Versatile. Since joining our team, Tom has become a full-fledged flag- waving environmentalist and full-time spokesperson for our campaign, and totally enjoys his work. Tom loves to be faced with challenges and enjoys problem solving.

Rolf Klausener, Website Coordinator
Rolf is a jack of all, master of many! Having spent many years working as an art director in the stock photography world, freelance graphic designer, communications coordinator for the Feds and program director for campus radio, Rolf brings a wealth of knowledge and gumption to the comms team. Having spent so much of his time working for corporate interests, Rolf is virtually in a constant state of elation working for a not-for-profit so in-line with his ecological goals. Rolf spends his time away from the office recording and touring with his band The Acorn; we're keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't get too famous... sort of?

Josée Roy, Administrative Assistant
Josée's is the friendly and knowledgeable voice you reach when you call Project Porchlight's head office. Josée has a 13-year-old son and a deep love for dolphins.

John Wade, Database and Logistics Coordinator

Dan Walker, Webmaster
Dan is responsible for the Project Porchlight internet presence, in all of its forms. Writer, photoshopper, and hacker of templates and scripts, if you’re seeing it at projectporchlight.com, Dan probably put it up there. Dan is also a member of the Board of Directors for One Change, and helped to deliver light bulbs in neighborhoods across Ottawa in 2005 and 2006.

Calgary, Alberta Team

Scott Payne, Campaign Manager
Scott organizes the human resources side of delivering compact florescent light bulbs to Alberta households. Scott believes that change must be accessible to everyone, not just a select few, so he’s thrilled to be working on a campaign in an organization with people that so genuinely embody this principle in action. Change IS within reach!

Matthew Bailey, Coordinator
Matthew Bailey is super excited to be part of such a wonderful cause. Wanting a career with meaning behind it, He joined a Calgary networking group called Youth Environmental Professionals (YEP) to learn about opportunities to help preserve the environment. That’s where project Porchlight came in. When not changing lightbulbs, Matt enjoys travelling the planet and looking at the scenery he’d like to preserve. It all starts with One Change.

Brian Doyle, Communications Coordinator
Our Alberta PR guru comes to One Change with prior incarnations as a legislative researcher and program coordinator in education and communications for non-profit organizations. Brian is excited about spreading the Project Porchlight message across wild rose country and promoting a meaningful dialogue about sustainable resource use. When he’s not doing that, he’s volunteering on the communications committee for Ghost River Rediscovery, a Calgary-based group that promotes Native peoples’ traditions and their connections to the earth and the environment.

Jan Panchalingam, Outreach Coordinator
Currently attending the University of Calgary pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Jan hopes to establish a career working with a not-for-profit and a cause that she truly believes in, like One Change and Project Porchlight, upon graduation. Jan is a humanitarian at heart and wants to be able to end all harsh treatment of sweat-shop workers, propose harsher convictions for animal cruelty and save the world one step at a time. She stands beside everything that Project Porchlight endorses in hopes that the world will recognize that simple actions matter.

Janice Roberts, Office Administrator
Janice is no stranger to community giving. Through Kin Canada she has been involved with many non-profit organizations hoping to make a difference. As current Co-President (2007-2008) and Past President (2004-2005) of the Kinette Club of Stampede City, Janice has witnessed volunteers who tirelessly raise funds for research in hopes of discovering an effective control or cure for Cystic Fibrosis. It’s refreshing to realize with all that is complicated in this world, “Project Porchlight” makes things so simple! It’s easy to get excited about a project knowing the impact it will have on Albertans now and in the future.

Regional Coordinators, Alberta

Jane Baker, Regional Coordinator, Northwest Alberta
Jane Baker is thrilled to be part of a fun and exciting campaign in the city of Grande Prairie and the Grande Prairie county area. Jane’s background is in the helping profession, working in marketing in the health food industry, so her work with Project Porchlight builds on this by promoting a simple change that saves money, energy, and by helping the environment contributes to the health of everyone and the health of the earth. Giving someone a free energy-efficient light bulb, helping them save on electricity costs and contributing to the wellness of the environment is an act of random kindness.

Vermont

Heidi Conant, Campaign Coordinator
Heidi Conant is a native Vermonter. After obtaining her MBA from the University of Chicago, she worked in investment banking in New York and London for 3 years and has spent the last 6 years running her own marketing consulting company. Today, Heidi is proud that Vermont is the first U.S. state to participate in Project Porchlight. "Canadians have already saved almost $6.7 million dollars by switching incandescent light bulbs with CFL bulbs through Project Porchlight. I am excited that I will be helping Vermonters save money on their electricity bills, not to mention the positive impact we will make on the environment."

Lauren Weiss, Communications and Outreach Coordinator
Lauren is excited that Project Porchlight is coming to Burlington! She has been living in Vermont for more than eight years and has enjoyed educating and energizing people from all parts of the state with her work on two political campaigns. She believes that One Change will further empower the strong, grassroots community of Vermont, and prove that each person has the power to make a difference.

Tom Wilson, Data and Volunteer Coordinator
As a recent transplant to the Burlington area, Tom is thrilled to be helping his new community on the path to energy efficiency.  He strongly believes that positive change begins with individuals and communities, and is very proud to be part of Project Porchlight’s first U.S. campaign.  He does not, however, think light bulb jokes are especially funny, and is gently trying to convey this to his friends and family.
